Catching up on posts from other thread... (thank goodness we have a new story.. ugh). I will never truly cheer for Nabby. I will clap and be happy when he plays well but standing and screaming "nabby!! nabby!! .. no way. I still don't like his baggage from when we had to Toll his friggin contract. As a Season ticket holder you meet a lot of players at events and as he was signing my kids stuff I said to him.. "You know Long Island tends to grow on people Nabby. I know you aren't ecstatic to be traded here but when you live here you usually end up staying. I would not be surprised to see you re-sign once you get a taste of it." He just kind of rolled his eyes.. but I was right.

Vis.... I am just as unhappy as everyone else, but I understand it on many levels. I am trying to maintain that it is not just "Islanders" issue. He is going to make far less this year than last in his current contract. KHL was paying him a lot more. They TAXES (which I can not believe noone in media, blogs, etc. has mentioned) are a much much much better scenario in Russia. I think they have a flat tax of 12% or something like that.. compared to God Knows what we have here now for the over 1 mill guys. He has to put a Lot in Escrow over here... If there is any way possible he can stay in KHL and play he is going to ... I will not take it personal b/c I would do the same. He will make MUCH MUCH MUCH more NET money. (p.s.- so will Kovy)

Personally who cares we all know what is going to happen we will be battling for the lottery for a great pick this year and possibly next year. Until the move to Brooklyn we will always be the same cheap team. Dont make a difference if a player wants to play here or not.

I rip this team more than anything but I am not goign to give credit to Snow, Capuano, or any player until I see some improvement with this team and so far I have seen basically nothing.

For everyone banking on retirement/insurance to solve this mess, I give you the annual "I feel great/I'm confident and ready to go" article.

http://aol.sportingnews.c...nders-brooklyn-training-c

We have to face it, this situation can be resolved by one man and one man only: Charles Wang. But unfortunately he's one of the only two people on the planet who still doesn't think the deal is a mistake. DP is the other. Well, three people if we count X.

I agree with you in a lot of what you said. However, I think you can give some credit for their improvement to JT, Moulson and Hamonic.

The islanders aren't trading Visnovsky. They have no defensive depth and they would get robbed in any trade, certainly wouldn't get back the second rounder they gave up for him. Most importantly, the team would be setting a bad precedent and sending a bad message to other players that if you whine and complain enough about not wanting to play for the islanders, you can force a trade away.

Keep Visnovsky. If he reports, play him. If he doesn't, toll his contract and let him rot, unless you can get a second rounder or better for him by trading him.

Ok besides those three??? we are talking about 3 out of like 25 people on this team. Not a good ratio

It really comes down to the KHL president. Will he keep his word on not letting players with NHL contracts play in the KHL?

If he doesn't... it will cause problems down the road for both leagues.. plus the Olympics!!!

We will see once the CBA is ratified... that will be the big thing.

Will Kovy, Vis, and Markov come back?

Why not make an offer sheet for PK Subban regardless. Even if Visnovsky does come and does play, who wants that kinda guy in your lockeroom. To me he's been a distraction since they traded for him. Move on. Pay up for PK Subban who's boys with Tavares from team Canada. A serious team would be making that move.

What truly amazes me most about that article, is that Dipietro speaks as if its just a time issue.........and he just needed to heal. Nevermind the fact that its been 5 years in a row of injuries, or that he hasnt played competitive hockey in that time. But, its just a matter of him healing and getting back out there. COMEEEEE ONNNNNNN. Stop lying to yourself Ricky..........its over kid.

I love the part where he says he does t regret signing the contract. Of course he doesn't. He's played for about 15 minutes over the past four years and made $18M for his effort. Not a bad shtick.

Is it me or is it weird that Visnovskys agent came out 2 days ago and said his client will not be coming to the islanders, but rather stay in the KHL. Then a day later he's saying, "if the KHL wont let him play, he'll be happy to join the islanders" Neil Sheehy HADDDDDD to know the deal before making both statements. Clearly he had to know that if the KHL wouldnt honor his clients contract he couldnt play there. SO, why start out like Viz was staying put, as if it was fact. The answer, is that his client (again) does not want to play for this team. Thats fine...........be done with that d!ck.

JT, Moulson, Strome, Reinhart, Grabner, Bailey, Nino, Hamonic MacDonald, Poulin, etc...

This team has depth @ all positions now... the team is in a better place than before the rebuild.

Garth is in his final year of the rebuild (year 5)... it's time for him to put up or move aside!!!

I thought the same thing............"I give Charles (Wang, the Islanders’ owner) all the credit for that,” DiPietro said. “When we talked about the deal, we looked at it as a positive." 4.5 million X 15 years..........i'd say thats a positive too!!!

I would support that move, if the salary offered in the sheet didn't cost 4 first rounders or whatever the compensation would be. I forgot what the thresholds are for the compensation for signing restricted free agents. He's a solid player and getting better every year. But he's not worth all those first rounders.

Sheehy didn't know he couldn't be traded either... he has some issues.

Not doing a good job.

I understand Vis wanting to go home and play there. Retire in his home town where he grew up.

He thought he was going to get bought out by Anaheim... then he would be free to leave.

It doesn't help that he is only owed around 2 million dollars, and the have probably offered more money to stay.

I think you bring up an interesting point, although we all know Garth is going nowhere. To me, after 5 years of a complete rebuild.......if the isles dont make the playoffs this year, Garth should be terminated. The proof is in the pudding...

why would you want subban in your locker room?? he's a me first player..he's not great in his own end and takes stupid penalties...hardly the guy i want to give up 3 or 4 picks for

I dont disagree, but to me that kid is a 5-6 million dollar player. Even if he's not, pay him that anyway and get him in here. He's extremely talented.
